Redcar Coastwatch Award

award

It is with great pride we can announce today that Coastwatch Redcar has been granted the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This honour is the equivalent of an MBE for the voluntary sector and was previously called the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. It was created in 2002 to mark the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee.

Our sincere thanks go to author and academic Dr. Ronnie Brown for nominating us for this accolade. Also, his efforts in securing the support of Councillor Carl Quatermain RCBC and High McGouran CEO of Tees Valley Community Foundation for their most valuable help in the nomination.

The official presentation will take place at a later date and will be undertaken by the Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire. We will post details and images following the ceremony.

This is a great achievement for our charity and highlights the dedication of all the volunteers.
