West Fife Coastwatch have relocated to a new permanent location. the new site is at North Queensferry Harbour. They are now operating from a custom trailer that they have had converted for there needs. the new site has more traffic, water sports and a local rowing club local to them. SSG wishes them every success
Sadly I have heard today that Len Butcher, retired Trustee and Treasurer of The Seasafety Group, passed away over the weekend. A bitter sweet evening where Winterton Coastwatch members gathered for a final meal together at the Boathouse Rollesbay. We all had a wonderfull meal and a jolly few hours but it was sad on parting knowing it was for the last time. Let’s hope local authorities see sense and allow a presence back on this
Sadly have to advise you that Bill Wilson the Manager of Hartlepool Coastwatch Station has passed away. “Fair Winds and Following Seas to you Sir. Stand down, Duty Done“. Sadly the Station has also had to close down due to the shortage of Watchkeepers also.
